This is the main town beach, sitting on the riverside in the heart of Ferragudo that embodies the town’s fishing heritage. It’s also connected to the Praia Grande, forming a long stretch of sand divided into two beaches. This means that there’s plenty of room to relax and enjoy the views across the river to the marina of Portimão. Praia da Angrinha is the smaller beach of the two and perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
Praia da Angrinha, slightly more rugged than its neighbouring beaches, offers a unique insight into traditional Ferragudo life. While it might lack the scenic charm of Praia Grande or Caneiros, it compensates by offering a glimpse of the local fishermen’s daily routines. Along the beach’s edge, a line of old, makeshift sheds can be seen, where fishermen are often spotted mending their nets and prepping their boats. Colourful fishing boats line the shore, creating a picturesque scene. After your beach day, wander through Ferragudo’s quaint streets and savour fresh seafood at the local eateries.
