Praia Grande is a long, spacious and family-friendly beach, perfect for surfing, paddle boarding and swimming. The gentle slope into the sea makes it ideal for young swimmers. While the children build sandcastles, parents can relax under colourful umbrellas. There are sunbeds and sunshades for hire as well as paddle boards and kayaks and a well-equipped beach playground where the children can play and beach football and beach volleyball are also available. There are showers and changing rooms on the beach.
The beach bars serve refreshing drinks and snacks to keep everyone fuelled for a day of beachfront fun. You can choose from Escondidinho to the side of the castle and beside some striking rock formations, Restaurant Praia Grande halfway down the steps with great views just above the beach, Club Nau with its beach lounge, restaurant, varied menu and ever popular live music sessions or the laid back boho beach café Kalu Beach Bar serving up great burgers.
